Ako Shimaki's (Boku ni Natta Watashi) shōjo manga series Pin to Kona is getting a live-action television adaptation that will premiere in July.

Kis-My-Ft2 idol group member Yūta Tamamori (Gokusen's Ryōta Takasugi, Nobunaga no Chef's Ken) will star in the series as Kyōnosuke Kawamura, the handsome son of a noble family. Idol group NYC member Yūma Nakayama (Piece - Kanojo no Kioku) will play Ichiya Sawayama, a talented kabuki novice from no notable family, and 9nine group member Umika Kawashima (Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge's Pyro) will play the kabuki-loving heroine Ayame Chiba. The romance manga follows both kabuki actors as they fall in love with the same girl.

Johnny's Jr. members Hokuto Matsumura and Jesse will co-star in the series as a fellow kabuki actor who is jealous of Ichiya and Kyōnosuke's friend, respectively. Kōji Yamamoto, Masahiro Takashima, Takaaki Enoki, and Kyōko Enami will also play kabuki actors and leaders, and Gorō Kishitani will play Kyōnosuke's father.

The manga won the GIrls' Category at the 57th Shogakukan Manga awards last year. The manga also placed 8th in the top 10 manga for female readers in the 2012 edition of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook.

Shimaki launched the manga in Shogakukan's Cheese! magazine in 2009, and Shogakukan published the 9th compiled volume last month. The manga has more than 1 million copies in print.

The series will air on TBS on Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m.

Don't mind my previous post, as I was able to type everything in 3 hours orz. Forgive me if there are grammatical or typographical errors. Please bear with me because I do not understand Cantonese, as well. This is made in a hurry, so please come back for additional updates if ever I remember some details or upload additional photos and videos.

Pre-Event (Dragon Centre)
Someone uploaded their copy, so you might as well watch it here.
The fashion show video will be uploaded this weekend.

According to the posters around the MTR station, the event will start at 5:30 P.M. Luckily, it did not start on time or else we could've missed it. The groups were on rehearsal mode when we arrived, so we looked for a good spot to stay. I was on the right side, while my friend is on the left side lol.

The event started with a fashion show. They were promoting the headphones by Sony. Hong Kong models, Dorothy Little Happy, dempagumi.inc, and 9nine did a cat walk on stage. Other groups, such as Up Up Girls and Super Girls, were not present on this event.

Dorothy Little Happy was first, followed by dempagumi.inc, and then 9nine. They greeted in Cantonese, but made a mistake on their first try. They asked, "Once more! Again, again!" then greeted in Cantonese again. Afterwards, they performed "colorful" and "Shining Star."

The three groups were called to receive presents, have photos, and wave to their fans at the end of the event. Everyone left after the event, so we thought of visiting the AKB48 Shop on the 6th floor. But, we saw that DLH were being interviewed and 9nine was next. We ran from the 6th to ground floor like crazy to see them again. Haha. They noticed us right away and did the 9nine pose while we were waving at them from the audience area.

Kawaii Pop Fest 2013

We went to KITEC Emax around 1:30 P.M. to claim our tickets and 1-Day I.D. Pass. There were many people at the con goods area, so we decided to watch Dorothy Little Happy instead. We are not familiar with their songs, but we really enjoyed Demo Sayonara and Colorful Life. MIMORI IS OFFICIALLY OUR FAVORITE MEMBER. The "Suki yo~" "Ore mo!" part was cute. The fans from Japan were amazing, especially their chants! Afterwards, we attended their handshake event. We told them that we are from the PH and they were really thankful. Koumi's English accent is flawless. She said, "Ah, from the Philippines? Mabuhay! I love the Philippines. I've been there." What a shocker. The next live event was dempagumi.inc. I can't tell much details, but they were crazy lol. Their song genre is something you'll go "wtf," but the lyrics will get stuck in your head. Pretty catchy.

Finally, 9nine!!!!!!!!! It was obvious that they got the biggest fan base. We were asked to fall in line for bag inspection then proceeded to the event area. Unlike a Johnny's concert, we don't have a designated area. We simply go there and choose where we want to stand. The entry number on our passes (0039 & 0040) serves as the order of who goes in the venue first. I'm not sure about the setlist, since I don't remember the order of the songs they performed.

Overture (Dance Medley)
They had a dance medley, about 1 or 2 minutes, before singing their first song.

colorful
They danced the usual choreography and waved at fans while forming a horizontal line on stage.

Yi Er! Jiang Shi (Iaru, Kyonshi)
They asked the fans to do the Kyonshi stance during the chorus part. We shouted the second voices too, such as "Hitotsu, futatsu, mittsu, yottsu." "Go, go, kyonshi girl~" "Are you ready!"

Evolution no. 9
Kanchan did the introduction, "Our next song is from our new upcoming single. Please listen to it... Evolution no. 9!" For those who have seen the PV, they did not perform the solo dance shots. It was a group dance, instead.

MC
They introduced themselves by saying their name and nickname. For example, "Satake Uki. Uki de~su." then the fans will shout "Ukiiii~" During the MC part, 9nine was nervous that the fans will not understand them so they studied the language. Chaapon asked if the fans can understand Japanese and everyone said "Yessss!" They were relieved, so they continued talking in Japanese. (According to Barks.jp, 9nine made a mistake by studying Mandarin instead of Cantonese?)

Kanchan said "Mango de, mango o tabetan desu yo. (I ate mangoes.)" Then, Uki replied with "That's what I was about to say! Why did you have to go first? Now, I have nothing else to say." Everyone laughed.

They talked about their shopping adventures. 9nine staff posted a photo and I think they went to Mong Kok because we saw the same shop a day before. We could've encountered them, but they went there in the afternoon orz. If not, it must be near their hotel (Crown Plaza Kowloon East Hotel).

Uki thought she made a good deal by buying a bag for 80 HKD, I guess? Chaapon asked the fans if it is a good deal, but they replied with "It's normal." Uki said, "Ehhh?" then they asked maybe next time the fans can go shopping with them together.

9 o'clock
The usual dance, then name chant during member parts. For example, "Kirikomi senchou Chaapon Chaapon Chaapon. Minna no taiyou Chaapon." "Chaapon!" or "Ka ka ka ka Kanchan ka?" "Yeah!"

koizora
Kanchan sang the first part on a capella then the song continued. They formed a horizontal line, while doing the hand movements. It was a solemn song. Everyone was listening attentively.

Shining Star
Sing and dance with chants like "Hey! Hey!" or "Oi~ Oi~ Oi~" from the fans.

One Kiss
Before starting the song, they formed a horizontal line and did an intro. Kanchan said, "Doki doki, Uki Uki" while doing the choreography. Everyone did the succeeding choreo, so the fans can dance along. During the chorus part, they invited everyone to do the steps.

Shoujo Traveler
Another energetic sing and dance performance. The fans waved their penlights according to the song's "Bus Stop!" part.

Ryuusei no Kuchizuke
They said that it was their last song. Everyone replied with an "Ehhhhh?" I can't believe that was it. Huhu. After the performance, they waved their goodbyes and proceeded backstage.

ENCORE

Konwaku Confuse
They went out after fans chanted "En~co~ru!" repeatedly. They did the dance part then waved at fans during the chorus. Everyone waved their penlights and towel.

Cross over
Everyone was energetic, as it is the last song. 9nine bowed and thanked the fans for a wonderful live event. They also thanked the girls who went to the event. They called us "Joshi Girls." They went backstage and the live event was over.

We were asked to form in line, blue I.D. laces (V.I.P. 3-Day Pass) on the right and violet I.D. laces (1-Day Pass) on the left, after the event. They went out on the other side and stood near the table. Everyone had their chance to shake hands with every member, but it was really fast. Around 5 or 10 seconds only!?

I said, "Watashi wa Firipin kara no fan desu." and they were really surprised. Me and my friend were the only fans who are not from Hong Kong or Japan. (There was a Kawaii Pop Fest Course for Japanese fans who want to attend that's why.) I gave them my gift and they were thankful.

I shook hands with Chaapon and she thanked us for coming all the way. I told Umika that I was a fan since Happy 2x Eyes and she said, "Ah. Happy 2x Eyes?" while pointing to her eyes. Kanchan remembered my friend and said, "Yesterday? (Event at Dragon Centre)" Hiroro remembered me because she said, "Ah, yellow penlight! Arigatou." Uki replied in English and said, "Thank you!"

After the handshake event, we bought con goods. They were selling the ones from their "CUE Reco Hatsu! 9nine Zenkoku Hyakubun < Ikken TOUR 2013." nationwide tour. Everything was sold out except for Kanchan and Uki's A4 file. My friend bought the last stock of Kanchan's set, while I bought Uki's. We were given a raffle ticket then a Japanese staff talked to us. We couldn't understand each other, so he asked if we can speak Chinese. Unfortunately, we can only speak English orz. He made signs that the raffle ticket is for another handshake opportunity. We were able to shake their hands twice!!!! 9nine remembered us and said, "Firipin? Firipin? Arigatou ne." We heard about Umika's upcoming drama in the morning, so I said "Dorama mo ganbatte ne." and she nodded.

Wait. There's more! The staff said there's an autograph signing for those who bought their CUE album. We bought the LE B through pre-order, but we weren't able to bring it. We bought the RE for 250 HKD, instead. According to Japanese fans, it was really cheap. I kinda agree because the prices at HMV were really high orz. They used different colors for their signs. I told Kanchan and Chaapon that their solos were amazing. Chaapon did a thumbs up, while Kanchan said thank you for listening... and that's it.

The event was successful and many fans gathered outside to talk about their experiences. We went home around 11 P.M., I think?
It was tiring, but fun. We were really glad we went all the way to watch them live. Hoping for a next time!

EDIT:
The live will be broadcasted by Pigoo! at BS skyperfect TV on June 8th (Sat) 18:00 JST.

Hello everyone. We just got back from Hong Kong! The event was indeed successful and worth it. For those who are waiting for my fan report, I have to postpone it until this weekend because I have to go back to work immediately wtf today.

Here are some images I took during their pre-event at Dragon Centre. I was not able to take photos on the event itself because it is not allowed. Videos from their pre-event at Dragon Centre will also be uploaded soon.
